Eisley began to write middle grade when a blue dragon named Deglan wouldn't let her continue her young adult novel, RINGS OF TIME. So in efforts to silence the roars and flapping wings, she began (and finished) BORN TO BE A DRAGON. Little did she know that this would just be the first in a series of middle grade children's novels.
